about
The Lighthouse Lies Dark features award-winning folk singer Laura Ward (Hickory Signals/Bird In The Belly) and classically-trained Tessa Gilles (Paul Diello Band). This is perhaps one of our more ambitious numbers and we are delighted to have worked with these fabulous female musicians.
A piece inspired by those who have offered, and continue to provide, light in the face of dark. The music and lyrics combine to conjure a sense of the past, and of inexorable change in our lifetimes.
lyrics
The lighthouse at sea, in the black empty ocean
On a rock all alone, those men lost to the water
Legands of life, The lighthouse silently wails
The storm took its toll, they fought for their soul
Proud memories did fall, a picture on the wall
All that we see, all that we sow
God only knows how we go on
The sky lost its stars
The lighthouse lies dark
