Picture of a young boy running down a hill The wind is in my hair I've got a smile on my face Mum and Dad are getting closer making me feel I am so excited reunited in this world I got the wind in my hair and everything is alright I got a smile on my face and everything is alright I've got a bike now I’m learning how to ride Gonna get around and see all my friends Stephen, the gang and me we're just taking our time We're working things out changing our minds I got the wind in my hair and everything is alright I got a smile on my face and everything is alright Everything around me is made of magic dust It sparkles and it shines and gives me wanderlust I'm caught up in nothing I’m just making my plans It must be really easy to travel to distant lands I got the wind in my hair and everything is alright I got a smile on my face and everything is alright Now that the years have passed The tears run down my face I cry when I remember The innocence and grace The picture isn’t framed it’s just a sunlit refrain Picture of a young boy Running down a hill I got the wind in my hair and everything is alright I got a smile on my face and everything is alright

Unsettled Verse 1 Why are they dropping off like flies, struggling to cling to anything to help break the fall And time moved quicker in the years when we’d planned a route out These words I order in a line not to conform to some design but in attempt to fix a base I can use Why are they dropping off like flies is it that hard to keep going No one needs to care but they care enough Verse 2 Delayed, November was in play and I was being lead through the darker streets of barely London It clicked through reflections off the pane, ten years had passed since we took home here At the time this was all I knew the only other worlds were Places in stories and conversations I’d heard But to see with older eyes I can see why we left here And if we didn’t care we’d have pelts of rust Chorus When I try to put these thoughts to paper seems I’m smearing all the ink And the truth is that it would have turned so cold In these sad and desperate moments we will gladly sit and think Is this life is this enough I don’t know, So we stay unsettled. Verse 3 Now we’re talking all the time made bigger plans for better lives We’re wording things to sound so pleasing Fronts, we talk to raise the line, carefully depicting phrases Quick tell them everything you know No one needs to care but we care so much Verse 3 This is why we’re dropping off like flies We’re swimming seas we thought were calmer and tamer and less susceptible to drown us

about

Recorded at AMT studios, Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University Recital Hall, March-June 2014.

Reviews:

"This is a stunning and versatile debut recording from Farlanders. The freshness and vitality of the sound shines out from the opening of ‘Lovely Thymes’, where the urgency of the mandolin is the perfect foil to the restrained passion of the vocals. Elsewhere the soulful eloquence of the fiddle colours some subtle mood changes and there are some spectacularly inventive rhythmic arrangements, joyously propelled by the tightness of the band. Catch them if you can!" Jon Banks, of Parvaz Ensemble and The Tivoli Cafe Band.
